A heavily pregnant Jessica Simpson says in the upcoming issue of Lucky Magazine that the extra pounds she gained during the pregnancy are actually good for business. In the interview, she also talks about where she stands when it comes to her wedding plans.
Since she broke the news about her being pregnant – and not fat – Jessica Simpson can openly talk about the extra pounds of baby fat. She says that when the media started picking on her because of the weight gain, she “didn’t cry about it too much”, because she was happy with the way she looks. On the contrary, she figured out that a few extra pounds are good for her fashion business. “I think that the decision not to make myself anorexic was actually great for branding”, the 31-year-old mother-to-be told the magazine. "Because when you're really, really skinny, not everybody can relate to you”.
When asked about her wedding plans, Jessica says that she has none. Even though she got engaged for nearly a year, she doesn’t think about marriage. “I have not put a single dress on, and by the time this comes out I will not be married”. The singer-turned-fashion designer got engaged to NFL star Eric Johnson in 2010.
Despite her busy fiancé and soon-to-be-mum schedule, Jessica says that she still has time for her clothing line. More than that, her inspiration comes easier now.” I really observe things now, like I can see a painting and want it to be printed on a shirt, it's fun to always be turning things into clothes.
Jessica Simpson held the pregnancy a secret until the end of last month, when she uploaded a photo of herself and her fiancée dressed up in Halloween costumes. It was the first time that she admitted indirectly she was pregnant, showing her baby bump in a mummy costume.
