Jessica Simpson is rebounding from her past beautifully. After a failed relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and a divorce from Nick Lachey, the star is planning a wedding to former NFL tight end Eric Johnson. Simpson is also working on her own tight end, slimming down for the wedding and posing in a pair of Daisy Dukes.
While Simpson is looking and feeling good, her father is still worried about the upcoming wedding. According to the National Ledger, a friend said Joe Simpson might be having second thoughts about Jessica tying the knot with Eric.
The friend stated, “It bothers Joe that Jessica is paying for everything and that Eric really doesn't have a job. Joe thinks Jessica can do much better and that's the bottom line.”Eric Johnson is also a Yale graduate. The good-looking couple recently attended a 10-year anniversary tour of Yale University with Jessica Alba and Cash Warren, another Yale graduate. Jessica Simpson was sporting red Daisy Dukes to show off her slimmer figure.
The Daily Mail reports Jessica Simpson, 30, wore a tight pair of denim Daisy Dukes to go to a restaurant in New Haven, Connecticut with Eric. The couple looked happy together and held hands. To help her slim down for the nuptial, Jessica hired celebrity trainer, Tracy Anderson. She works out four times a week, 75 minutes per session. While she isn't in the shape she was during the “Dukes of Hazzard” days in 2005, Jessica's legs are visibly slimmer.
Besides looking good for her wedding, Simpson is a fashion industry mogul with a clothing empire worth nearly $1 billion. In the fall, she plans to launch a new clothing line with her younger sister Ashlee, especially for girls between 7 and 16.
Simpson said, “Creating a tween apparel collection was a natural extension for the brand. I’m excited to bring my sister, Ashlee, along as co-creative director of this division, because she brings a savvy rocker edge that defines today’s tweens.'”
As she built her empire, Eric Johnson proposed to Jessica Simpson in November and they plan to tie the knot soon. Last week, Simpson's ex Tony Romo got married. In the near future, her ex-husband Nick Lachey will walk down the aisle with Vanessa Minnillo.
